There’s no doubt Instagram-scrolling takes up a decent chunk of time each day. We love Instagram, especially since that’s how we got our start. Four years later and we are still in love with our own page. We’ve also found a few MUST follow favorites along the way. These guys make us fall in love with our city over and over every day.
Check out these local accounts with crazy talented photographers we love:
Melissa is an amateur photographer based out of Miami. Her passion for adventure, nature, and scenic landscape has always driven her toward the fascinating world of lighting, and the full visual experience. Her page is full of South Florida and beyond, she always makes sure to take her GoPro (among other cameras) along with her on her amazing explorations around town. As a bonus – be sure to follow her boyfriend, Manny – @MannyPrades to see their adventures from his eyes.

Magic City. My city. Our city. God's been doing some great work. I'm just proud to be a part of the revival with @vouschurch. Salute. In other news: A Tribe Called Quest album is fiyahh. Dave Chappelle was on SNL, @miamidolphins won, I tricked the chipotle cashier in not charging me for double chicken, bought a Bobby Caldwell vinyl, saw Doctor Strange ( another fiyahhh). Despite a trying week the Cuban lady made colada with maddddd espumita this morning. Life is Good. Ready to go in on this week which is busiest time of the year. #HelloVistaMIA
This Instagrammer is a little different than the others on our list – not only does he take breathtaking photos of South Florida, but he also takes amazing photos of food made by some of our favorite locals. A visit to either of Andy’s beautifully curated Instagram accounts (check out @nowbrewing.coffee) with gorgeous food and specialty coffee shots would make anyone’s mouth water. But it’s the heartfelt stories behind the photos that make the true difference. A common theme in his photos is the celebration of the “new” Miami, and of the close-knit food community that has sprung up and gets stronger by the day. In addition to being an avid supporter of local small businesses, he also contributes personally by organizing free monthly specialty coffee meet-ups. In between meals and coffee, Andy is an insurance broker.
PS – The header photo is his, too!
Jake Ryan Butters is a creative director and commercial drone operator. He enjoys capturing Miami from high above and sharing with his international audience on Instagram. Chances are, if you see a helicopter flying around with someone half hanging out and taking photos, it’s probably Jake. We appreciate every high flying angle he gets whether from helicopter seat or drone!

Born and raised beside the palm trees and skyscrapers of downtown Miami, Matias Vasquez has created a living through the lens of his camera and everlasting creativity. He’s used Miami mostly, though not exclusively, to showcase his photography. Throughout the past four years he’s become a staple in the Miami arts community but more so a major staple in the community of social media.
