These days it’s all about the next social event and who is going to be there. There’s no doubt you’ve purchased a ticket or two using Eventbrite. It’s a quick and convenient site with an app that makes checking in easy and paperless, so of course we love it. If there’s one thing I love even more than convenience, it’s when someone from Miami makes something just as fantastic and simple to use with a fun local twist. That’s where Danny Pizarro and Mixstir come into play.
Mixstir is a new way of bringing people together, adding a social aspect to event purchases. Mixstir allows you to discover, book, and list unique food and cocktail events and experiences. They are tailoring your experience based on your past events whether it be event type or host of the event. You can even set your preferences to get alerts when certain vendors or companies post an event. They get you straight to the good stuff.
Mixstir launched in the summer of 2016 with its first events happening back to back one day to the next – talk about seriously diving in. The first event was a Salty Donut x Lyfe Brand collab (again with that local love) to celebrate National Donut Day on June 3rd. This epic party was attended by 100 people who used Mixstir for the first time ever to purchase tickets. The very next afternoon Drink Miami HOSTEL took place at the Freehand Miami and Broken Shaker, where again masses of people purchased tickets to party with some of their favorite bars and spirit brands on a quick trip around the world with cocktails. Both events took off without a hitch and Mixstir was officially in business.
Danny Pizarro dreamed of giving back, originally he thought that would be by going to medical school and becoming a doctor, but even the best laid plans can take a turn for an even better route. He began coding and creating in college when he started branding and designing merchandise for local bands and running their websites for them. You know, back in the Myspace days when music was truly what ruled the social media world. As social media and its reach evolved so did Danny’s expertise. He realized the medical field wasn’t what made him happiest or where he felt most passionate. So, he set out to create a platform where people can connect and share experiences. After years of hard work Mixstir was born, however Danny shows no signs of slowing down and I have a feeling this won’t be the last epic event platform he has planned for us. Keep this guy on your radar – he’s going places.
