Cryo Miami, located on US1 right near Merrick Park, is a premier cryotherapy center offering treatments for the whole body using subzero temperatures to rejuvenate, recover and revitalize the body’s overall health and wellness.
Cryotherapy is rapidly becoming the “it” beauty treatment and where is was known to be a 3 minute body treatment with your face sticking out of the top, there’s now a facial option. The 12 minute facial treatment features cold nitrogen vapor directly penetrating deeper levels of the skin closing the pores and lightening dark circles while activating new collagen production increasing the skin’s capacity to rejuvenate itself. In addition, cryotherapy for the face reduces the appearance of fine lines, acne scars and wrinkles resulting in noticeably clearer, smoother, younger looking skin.
Obviously, all of this sounds like something we needed to check out, so we immediately made an appointment. Upon arrival they suggested that I treat myself with both treatments and I wasn’t going to object.
First up was the body treatment. I was led to a changing room where I was handed a robe and given strict order to wear socks, slippers, and gloves – all provided in the changing room. Once the machine was ready I stepped inside and was lifted up until I was only covered from the neck down and the process began. All treatments take place with a technician in the room. The machine takes about a minute to get into “therapy” mode, which is -110 degrees Celsius and then your next two minutes are spent between that and -135 degree Celsius. Truthfully, it wasn’t nearly as cold as I anticipated and the time was up before I knew it.
Next was the facial. During the 12 minutes you’re laying down and the nitrogen is coming from a hose being moved all over your face. It feels like a cold fan touching about an inch of area at a time. Every once in awhile you feel a little choked up, but that’s completely normal. It’s a very relaxing cold that almost put me to sleep. When finished I felt like my face was instantly tighter and I was suddenly full of energy.
The 800 square foot space features two treatment rooms and three changing areas. It’s very calmly decorated with light blue and gray tones that right away made me feel relaxed and comfortable. Cryo Miami is currently offering a new member introductory session for $35. There are also monthly membership packages that range in price from $249 (for five sessions) to $399 (for ten sessions). Single facial sessions are $55-$75, packages range from $195 (for three sessions) to $355 (for ten sessions). In addition, Cryo Miami is also available to book for private parties with special package rates based on number of people.
The benefits of cryotherapy are endless. By pumping the muscles with oxygen, nutrients and enzymes as the body is subjected to extreme temperatures, it helps to reduce soreness, cellulite and inflammation while boosting metabolism promoting weight loss. Each three minute session in Cryo Miami’s state-of-the-art facility can burn up to 300 – 600 calories. Regular sessions aid in improving circulation, joint health/ inflammation, immune system and muscle recovery. Cryo Miami offers the most technologically advanced local cryotherapy treatments by using the Cryo Penguin, the newest therapy device on the market. Unlike most cryotherapy devices, the Cryo Penguin is able to target pain specific areas while the -160 degree nitrogen vapor penetrates the muscles to guarantee pain relief as well as overall improved body function.
I definitely feel the difference after just one treatment and would absolutely consider making regular visits. Some clients get treatments a few times a week as opposed to getting botox. It’s always nice to have options!
