South Florida’s Taste of the Nation for No Kid Hungry is just two weeks away and ready to embark on it’s 29th year. Taste of the Nation is one of the biggest culinary benefit events in Miami. It features top chefs from Miami-Dade and Broward counties showcasing more than 60 of the hottest restaurants, top chefs, sommeliers and mixologists – many of which are Brickell based!
Taste of the Nation will take place on Friday, May 12, 2017 from 7pm (6pm for VIP ticket holders) to 10pm. The annual event returns to Wynwood at Soho Studios. The soirée continues with an exclusive after party for VIP ticket holders and chef participants at the vibrant restaurant and gallery R House from 10:30pm to midnight. While dishes will differ with bountiful savory and sweet options, one thing will remain the same: the evening’s goal to raise money for No Kid Hungry’s work to end childhood hunger in America.
Event hosts include radio personality Nick Pena of Y100 and CBS4’s EMMY Award-winning reporter Lisa Petrillo join new Chef Chairman Timon Balloo for South Florida’s much anticipated annual tasting event.
The line up of over 60 of South Florida’s best food and drink destinations, include some of our Brickell favorites like: Area 31, db Bistro Moderne, EDGE Steak & Bar, Fi’lia by Michael Schwartz, Fooq’s, SuViche, and Zest.
In addition to tasty bites and libations, Taste of the Nation 2017 will feature a curated silent auction with one-of-a-kind packages, an Instant Wine Cellar – unlock the mystery door and win over $2,000 worth of wine, interactive elements such as a Citi lounge area for guests to relax and enjoy savory bites, and an “Urban Beer Garden” – curated by Events on the Loose – featuring a selection of South Florida’s iconic local brews from Biscayne Bay Brewing Company, Concrete Beach Brewery, J. Wakefield Brewing, MIA Beer Company, The Tank Brewing and Wynwood Brewing.
New to this year’s festivities will be the first ever Taste of the Nation Speakeasy presented by Breakthru Beverage Group featuring mixologists from Alter, Beaker & Gray, Better Days, Bitter Truth, Repour Bar and Wynwood Diner. Each will be paired with a spirit and will serve a specialty cocktail of their creation all night long.
The party will continue just down the street at R House where Chef/Owner Rocco Carulli will team up with more Brickell hotspots, Big Easy WineBar & Grill and Elia Gourmet, to treat guests to tasty bites and pours from Scott Conant’s newest pop-up SORSO by Scott Conant along with beer provided exclusively by Estrella Damm.
