They say getting to the gym is the hardest part of the workout. But what about staying at the gym? Broken machines, long wait lines and ridiculous prices could have you sacrificing your health to avoid signing a gym membership. But what if there was a way to stay fit in Brickell without stepping a single foot inside a gym? Let’s dive right into it.
Brickell Run Club
This free run club sponsored by Nike+ Run Club meets every Tuesday at 7 p.m. for an intense 5k around Brickell. CPR-certified, volunteer-based runners or “pacers” lead participants through a new route each week, which can include turns, up-hill roads and even bridges. Not an experienced runner? No worries. Nike pacers are constantly accompanying runners throughout the route and the crowd is separated into two or three groups according to pace and fitness level. There is also free water and a few giveaways if you make it to the end of the route. If you love running but dread getting on a treadmill, we recommend this scenic workout. So, pack your running shoes, convince your co-workers and meet the run club at Fortune International – 1300 Brickell Ave, every Tuesday, rain or shine.
Brickell 5K Training + Free Beer
Want to improve your 5k game? For those more experienced runners, you can now train to improve your 5k finish time for FREE. This running club meets every Monday from 7:15 p.m. to 10:15 p.m. to train on resistance and endurance by following a route designed to mimic a real 5k meet. The best part? Everyone receives complimentary beer at Batch Gastropub after the run. This special workout is sponsored by GoRun Project and is open to all ages and fitness levels. To join, meet the group at 30 Southwest 12 Street every Monday.
