Last week, rumors circulated about The Wharf Miami – a popular, open-air venue overlooking the Miami River – shutting its doors and moving to Bayside.
However, Breakwater Hospitality Group cofounder, Emi Guerra, assured Miami New Times that this isn’t the case. Instead, the group would be opening a new venue at Bayside Marketplace called Pier 5.
“Pier 5 is not replacing Wharf Miami,” Guerra clarified to the New Times. He explained that although the new bar will also be nautical, it will take a lot of inspiration from the site’s previous life as a fishing pier, seafood market, and tourist attraction popular during the ‘40s and ‘50s.
Bayside’s newest bar will be open seven days a week. Guests can expect deck games, entertainment space, and a shaded bar area with breathtaking views.
Guerra, Rodney Barreto of the Barreto Group, and Erick Passo, founder of Black Market, plan to open Pier 5 this winter.
